GACHAGUA'S IMPEACHMENT  Kenya's Deputy President, Rigathi Gachagua, was impeached by the Senate on October 17, 2024, following several accusations, including inflammatory remarks that equated government positions to "shareholding," undermining judicial independence, and breaching the National Cohesion and Integration Act. The impeachment motion succeeded with 54 out of 66 senators voting to uphold the charges, particularly focusing on Gachagua's controversial statements and actions that many saw as divisive and unconstitutional. The charges that sealed his fate included remarks that undermined the judiciary and attacks on the National Intelligence Service. Despite Gachagua's hospitalization and a court order temporarily halting the process, the Senate's decision remains upheld for now. UNDERSTANDING FLOODS Floods is an overflow of water that submerges land that is usually dry. In the sense of flowing water the word may also be applied to the inflow of the tide. Floods are of significant concern in agriculture, civil engineering and public health. Human changes to the environment often increases the intensity  and frequency of flooding. Examples for human changes are land use changes such as deforestation and removal of wetlands, changes in waterways course or flood controls such as with levees .Global environment issues also influence causes of floods, namely climate change which causes intensification of the water cycle and sea level rise .for example climate change makes extreme weather events more frequent  and stronger.
